Primitive Creative Castings - 7/30&8/1

Service Description

In this class, you’ll learn 4 different primitive casting techniques that each have their own distinct and unique looks that can easily lend themselves to being incorporated into your designs. These methods are not your typical casting techniques that require expensive equipment or the use of a kiln. We’ll learn broom/pasta casting, lentil casting, salt casting and, my favorite, water casting. We’ll be working outside for the first portion of class as some of these materials tend to burn and create smoke when you pour hot molten metal into them. You'll also get some exposure to a duel fuel torch. This class is a great time so bring any sterling silver scrap that you may have accumulated in your classes, or you can purchase clean scrap material to use at the store at the daily scrap market price. That's all you need to bring beside yourself! Note: You will not be finishing a jewelry project in this class, but will be learning the different primitive casting methods to make items like the piece in the provided image.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations are inevitable and we will do our best to work with you, but since our class sizes are so small, we need as much advance notice as possible.  Cancellations more than 30 days in advance can be refunded, rescheduled or credited.  Cancellations between 30 days and 10 days of class will be given store credit or rescheduled. Cancellations with less than10 days advance notice - no refund. If cancelling with no refund, students can use the RETAKE code to sign up for a future class at half price
